LONDON – A two-week post-Christmas lockdown is among the options recommended by British scientists to curb the impact of the Omicron variant on UK hospitals. But it is not certain that Boris Johnson will approve the proposal, after suffering this week a revolt of almost a hundred of his conservative deputies against the anti-Covid measures voted by the House of Commons and a disastrous defeat for the election of a vacant seat that for nearly two hundred years it had been dominated by the Tories.
