Rio Branco-AC and CRB drew 0-0 on Wednesday night (21) in the only game of the first phase of the Copa do Brasil. The ball rolled at Estádio Florestão, in the capital of Acre, Rio Branco, and Galo held off the opponent’s pressure. The result led to advancement to the second phase and the award of R$ 1.47 million to the regatian coffers.
According to the regulations of the national competition, Estrelão needed to win to advance to the second phase. CRB, best placed in the National Club Ranking (RNC), played for a draw to qualify.
Now Regatas will face the winner of Athletic-MG x Volta Redonda-RJ, which only takes place on the 27th, next Tuesday. The field command will be from the Regatian team. In other words, it will take place at the Rei Pelé Stadium.
The Regatiano team returns to the field next Sunday (25), when they will face Coruripe away from home, at 4pm, at the Gerson Amaral Stadium. The match is valid for the sixth round of the Alagoano Championship.
At the beginning of the game, after a ball in the area, it was up to Fábio Alemão to step up and shoot, but goalkeeper Evandro Gigante made an important save to avoid the goal. At 33, Tonny had Rio Branco’s best finish, with a dangerous shot that went close to the post.
There was still time for Gegê, with a free kick in the 39th minute, to hit the net from the outside and scare. But that was it. A tough first half, but one that failed to achieve much, due to the heavy pitch due to heavy rain.
In the second stage, CRB continued to have more presence in the attacking field, but the number of chances remained scarce and the score remained blank.
