Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Elements of society on behalf of the National Coalition to Save Democracy will hold the event demonstration entitled ‘Civil Society Saves Indonesian Democracy’ to reject fraudulent elections in front of the DPR/MPR Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (5/3) today.

“Yes, it’s true that we will hold an action at the DPR later,” said one of the action coordinators, Meri CNNIndonesia.com.

Meri was reluctant to name the figures who would attend because she wanted to protect them first. He only said that this action was planned to be held at 10.00 WIB.

He also claimed that more than 1,000 people attended from various elements of society, from students, workers to activists and academics.

Meri also confirmed that there were 15 demands brought in this action. Some of them reject the fraudulent 2024 election results, reduce the prices of basic necessities and urge the DPR to hold an inquiry into the election fraud.

“Later, students and workers will come down too,” he said.

This action coincides with the DPR which will hold a plenary meeting to open the fourth session of the 2023-2024 session today.

After voting day for the 2024 election was held on February 14, cries about allegations of fraud became increasingly louder from various elements of society and the candidates competing.

One of the allegations of fraud was triggered by problems in the Recapitulation Information System (Sirekap) used by the KPU. Apart from that, fraud is suspected to have occurred long before the voting.

This fraud was voiced by the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar team and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD. Based on Sirekap and quick count, these two candidate pairs were ranked second and third in terms of vote acquisition.
