Cubana de Aviación reports on impacts on domestic flights

The national airline, Cubana de Aviación, faced impacts on its domestic flights this past weekend at the “Frank País” Airport in Holguín, according to official sources. The Holguín airport Telegram channel reported a 23-hour delay for flights CU975 from Holguín to Havana and CU974 from Havana to Holguín on March 3. The departures were rescheduled for March 4 due to operational reasons.

Prices for domestic flights through Cubana de Aviación vary depending on the destination. The Havana-Camagüey route costs 690 Cuban pesos, while Havana-Las Tunas costs 860, and Havana-Holguín costs 935. Prices are expected to rise significantly in the coming months due to transport measures.

Other domestic flight costs include 1,100 pesos for Santiago de Cuba, 1,140 pesos for Guantánamo, and 1,350 pesos for Baracoa. The route to Nueva Gerona, on the Isle of Youth, is the cheapest at 300 Cuban pesos, but availability may vary.

In addition to domestic flights, Cubana de Aviación offers international connections to Argentina, Spain, and Caracas, Venezuela since February. The company is facing financial and technology problems, raising concerns for potential passengers.
