Since the end of November 2023, the national airline Cubana de Aviación announced that it was opening to the online purchase of air tickets or tickets. A new version of the website of the airline company Cubana de Aviación has been available for a couple of months, according to reports from there. The website already allows you to book tickets for flights within the island, such as Havana-Santiago de Cuba or Havana-Holguín, and also for international destinations. It can be done by transfer or cash at the Cubana offices.
According to the officials, the website was renewed with a more modern, functional and fast design, which makes it easier to find the desired connections. Users can check flight availability for the dates they choose and make their reservations online.
How to Buy Online with Cubana After New Prices
Now with the new prices, doubts continue to arise, although from the Cubana de Aviación Telegram channel, one of its workers clarified it this way. Through the official website, online reservations are made in CUP, USD, CAD, and EUR. “Availability for JANUARY/24. There is no APK yet, only a web page,” he added.
He then added that “the current availabilities are no longer for January. You must search the site and if they do not appear for the desired date, it means that either there is no flight for that day or that there are no longer available tickets. Payments in CUP by Transfermovil”.
An example of the new air ticket prices is that from Havana to Guantánamo, which increases from 1,140 to 4,300 Cuban pesos, being one of the longest journeys. Another case is that of Havana to Holguín, which goes from 935 to more than 4 thousand pesos, a cost that was already high for many.
Flights from Havana to Gerona, on the Isle of Youth, are also increasing, exceeding a thousand pesos. We remember that a retirement in Cuba does not exceed 1,500 pesos per month in many cases.
