At 80 minutes, Romero unexpectedly went to look for a moving ball cross – he usually goes when there is a corner – and, despite being marked, he headed the aerial pass that Englishman James Maddison had sent him from the right.

When Maddison’s cross arrived, he brushed the ball and dislodged the Palace goalkeeper, England’s Sam Johnstone.
The Argentine’s goal was part of the final burst with which Tottenham turned the game around: in just 11 minutes (from 77 to 88), the Spurs went from losing 1-0 to winning 3-1.
