Acceptance – First US retaliation for the massacre at Kabul airport: an American drone killed a “planner” of Isis-Khorasan, the group that claimed responsibility for the kamikaze attack at the airport. “The bombing took place in the Afghan province of Nangarhar and the indications are that the target was killed,” said Captain Bill Urban of the US Central Command. The statement adds that “there is no news of civilian casualties”.
The drone had departed from outside Afghanistan. After the massacre on Thursday, the American president, Joe Biden, had promised that the attack in Kabul would be avenged: “We will not forgive, we will not forget, we will hunt you down and make you pay”, he said.
