Students from the Claretiano ‘Gustavo Torres Parra’ school in Neiva, marched towards the Mayor’s Office, asking for improvements in educational infrastructure and adequate conditions for their education.
After a sit-in held yesterday in front of the school facilities, students and parents have decided to take their protest one step furthermarching towards the Neiva Mayor’s Office in search of concrete solutions.
The protesters, coming from the ‘Gustavo Torres Parra’ Claretiano school, demand urgent improvements in the infrastructure of the educational establishment. According to their claims, the electrical installations have serious failures, with structural damage to fans, air conditioners and lighting in the classrooms.
In addition, they point out that the sports fields lack cover and the common areas are in a state of abandonment.reduced and without the necessary adaptations for an optimal educational environment.

The lack of teaching staff has also been reported, which negatively impacts the quality of the educational process for young people.
With the march towards the Mayor’s Office of Neiva, students and parents hope that clear guidelines will be established to address these problems that significantly affect the student population.
The mobilization seeks for municipal authorities to take concrete actions to improve teaching and learning conditions at the Claretiano ‘Gustavo Torres Parra’ school and guarantee a safe and adequate educational environment for all students.
It is expected that student spokespersons will be able to meet with the city’s educational authorities during the morning.
