Walter Lehnerz is one of the dealers who has been part of the ZDF program “Bares für Rares” since the beginning. Because he does a lot for a good cause and is also a big fan of Udo Lindenberg, he will soon be releasing his own CD.

Cologne – Along with Fabian Kahl and Wolfgang Pauritsch, Walter Lehnertz is one of the three dealers who have been on “Bares für Rares” (ZDF) with presenter Horst Lichter since the first broadcast on August 3, 2013. In the special program “This is how junk stars tick,” “Waldi” gave some very private insights.

Meanwhile, in the “Cash for Rares” special, Fabian Kahl not only talks about the fact that he is a trained safari guide for southern Africa. The dealer from Thuringia, who is engaged to Yvonne Arnolds, also reports a special fascination – for animal remains.

But back to “80-Euro-Waldi”, as the art and antiques dealer is also called because, as a trademark of “Bares für Rares”, he often places first bids of 80 euros for objects that are sometimes more valuable: This is what the managing director of “Waldi’s” says Eifel Antik” is also a frequent event, which is why he is so committed to a good cause.

“I admire Waldi for the way he deals with people,” says Fabian Kahl about his dealer colleague. “For example, his store is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can always come there. He does a lot of events and he’s so easygoing with everyone. I find that so admirable.”

The trained horse farmer and passionate hobby angler has his antique shop in Kall-Krekel in the Euskirchen district in the North Eifel in North Rhine-Westphalia. According to him, most of the money he has raised so far through events for a good cause in collaboration with his partner Sonja Burghausen has gone to the “Zesame Stonn” Foundation.

The “Zesame Stonn” Foundation was founded by Herbert Prümmer from Monschau-Kalterherberg in 2017. The foundation works, among other things, to combat poverty in old age. Seniors who, for example, can no longer afford the oil for heating in winter are supported.

“Or we can get electric wheelchairs. They get a normal wheelchair from the checkout, but they don’t have the strength to push it,” reports Walter Lehnertz. The “Cash for Rares” dealer from the Eifel has collected over 100,000 euros for the flood victims in the Ahr Valley.

Now “Waldi” has another idea to raise money for a good cause. Some time ago, the Udo Lindenberg fan – dressed in style as his idol with a hat and wig – sang the song “Bodo Ballermann” in front of his fans. Udo Lindenberg released the song in 1976 on the record “Galaxo Gang – These are the gentlemen from the other star”.

If you saw a spot, usually it was a bruise on Fränzchen Beckenbauer’s shin, or if a goalkeeper was desperately holding his stomach, Bodo had struck again!

In a video of the tango, 30-year-old Udo Lindenberg dribbles across the pitch in the stadium in shorts and yellow socks. As a “homage to Udo Lindenberg” and for a good cause, Walter Lehnertz now wants to re-record the song, have CDs pressed and make a music video.

All the proceeds will then go to a good cause, according to the “Cash for Rares” special program “This is how junk stars tick”. In this, “Waldi” starts the song again: “Bodo Ballermann played for the Rambo-Zambo football club. He darts across the pitch, as fast as a tiger, and he was the terror of the Bundesliga.”

The recently deceased Franz Beckenbauer also appears in the song by Udo Lindenberg. “If you saw a spot, usually it was a bruise on Fränzchen Beckenbauer’s shin, or if a goalkeeper was desperately holding his stomach, Bodo had struck again!”, it says in the piece.

“This is going to be awesome!” says Walter Lehnertz, convinced of the idea of collecting money for a good cause with a new edition of “Bodo Ballermann”. He continues to sing: “Put him in is Cha-Cha-Cha. 10,000 people shout in unison: Now finally score a goal again!”

“Waldi sings. I’ve already heard it. I don’t know if I want to hear it again. But he does it,” says “Cash for Rares” expert Detlev Kümmel. “Waldi can’t do a lot of things. But he doesn’t know that. And that’s why he does it anyway. He is the human bumblebee. She’s actually not able to fly either. But she does.”
