Tötensen – Actually, you would think that Dieter Bohlen (70) has already seen everything in life. The musician became famous in the 1980s alongside Thomas Anders (61) with the band Modern Talking. They achieved their big breakthrough with their hit “You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul”. After the band broke up, Dieter Bohlen worked as a music producer and became a DSDS cult juror. He also met some strange people on “Das Supertalent”. Despite everything, he is now speechless in the face of a published media report.

In its Instagramstory, he shared a screenshot from The Indian Express. The title of the English article translates into German: “’Cheri, Cheri Lady’ is making a huge comeback thanks to Instagram Reels. Everything you need to know about Modern Talking, the German band that created the viral song.” Social media has triggered a real modern talking hype in India.

Dieter Bohlen wrote about the screenshot: “Things are really going on in India now too.” And further: “They thought we were an American band.” In fact, the article says: “Due to the newfound popularity of the band for almost three decades “An old captivating song is mistakenly believed to have been sung by an American artist.”

The native of Lower Saxony doesn’t seem to mind the Indian fans for the mistake. “Cheri, Cheri Lady” was released in 1985 and quickly became one of Modern Talking’s most successful songs. Nobody would have guessed that the song would now celebrate its big comeback – not even Dieter Bohlen.
