The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovačevski, has resigned, and that country will have a new government by Sunday. Kovačevski announced on Tuesday that he will resign on Thursday, after which the processes for the formation of a technical government will be opened, which should enable the implementation of parliamentary elections on May 9.
Kovačevski, answering questions from journalists on the sidelines of the “Year of European Opportunities” conference, which is being held in Skopje, said that with the resignation of the prime minister, the entire government will resign.
As he pointed out at the time, the upcoming elections will not be elections between the left and the right, but will be elections “between the West and the East”.
The parties in the assembly of North Macedonia agreed at the beginning of December that the parliamentary elections will be held on May 8 this year, together with the second round of presidential elections, while the first round of elections for the president of that country will be held on April 24.
However, after resigning, Kovačevski said that the elections will be held on May 9.
