DRIVER SHORTAGE Caponi (FAI-Conf.): ‘We must put an end to a situation that damages businesses and workers’ – Current affairs

From Perugia, on the occasion of the conference “LEGALITY: THE WORD OF THE RELEVANT ACTORS”, the National Secretary of the FAI-Conftrasporto, Carlotta Caponi, in agreement with the President Uggé, launches an appeal together with the national trade union organizations (FILT CGIL , FIT CISL, UIL TRASPORTI).

“The waiting times that drivers are forced to have when loading and unloading (as well as discouraging those who wish to undertake this profession) are one of the issues that impact road safety, increasing the risks for the safety of traveling personnel and with repercussions on safety in the workplace and in road traffic, states Secretary Caponi.

“We extend an invitation to the Minister of Transport Matteo Salvini, to encourage a joint meeting at the Ministry between the parties involved: clients, the world of road transport and workers’ unions, to put an end to a situation that damages companies and workers, as well as making I jeopardize the safety of all road users.”

The proposal was widely shared by the trade unions present who reiterated their maximum availability to what was stated by the national secretary of Fai Conftrasporto Caponi
