DSV, the third global player specializing in logistics and transport solutions, reaches a new sustainability milestone with the acquisition of Enel’s Renewable Energy Brand.
The certificate recognizes the efficiency of the energy management system implemented by DSV and certifies the use of energy coming 100% from renewable sources by all the Group’s Italian sites, with the exception of those of Calvenzano and Settala which will enter the initiative starting from the second quarter of 2024.
“This initiative, which will allow us to reach a zero emissions factor in the coming months and which integrates with the relamping projects already underway in our warehouses, will accompany us towards the long-term objective in which we ourselves will produce clean energy through photovoltaics”, commented Davide Uracchi, Managing Director of DSV Solutions.
According to the latest research from the Contract Logistics Observatory of the Polytechnic of Milan, the world of logistics is in a period of renewal, with a new attention to social sustainability that goes hand in hand with economic and environmental sustainability. In particular, 20%[1] of companies in the sector are focusing their efforts on the green transition, focusing primarily on reducing the carbon footprint linked to company activities.
In line with this scenario, the Italian branch of DSV also aims to operate with the lowest possible carbon footprint, aligning with the Group’s strategy which aims to reduce scope 1 and 2 emissions by up to 50%, scope 3 by up to 30%. by 2030.
