East Jerusalem, Israel’s Supreme Court proposes “protected rent” to Arab families at risk of eviction

TEL AVIV – The Israeli Supreme Court today presented a compromise to four of the 28 Palestinian families at risk of eviction from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah, the East Jerusalem neighborhood that became the subject of international attention when, in May, the protracted legal dispute for decades it was the spark that sparked the 11 days of conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza in May.
