Promoting the adoption of renewable energy and pushing energy efficiency among freight road transport and logistics companies: this is the objective of the strategic partnership just renewed, for the third year, between ANITA Business, ANITA’s service company, and Sorgenia. Precisely thanks to this collaborative project, ANITA continues in its choice to promote concrete solutions to support companies in the sector on their path towards greater sustainability, competitiveness and energy self-sufficiency, as explained by president Riccardo Morelli.

President Morelli, what are ANITA’s numbers?

I would like to say that ANITA, which is a member of Confindustria, is the longest-standing trade association among those currently operating in Italy, since its foundation dates back to 1944. Today we count on approximately 1,700 associated companies, for a total of employees who is approaching 90 thousand.

From what needs did ANITA Business‘ strategic partnership with Sorgenia arise?

I think it is significant that the collaboration project was born three years ago, when there was not the same attention around sustainability and energy efficiency as there is now, demonstrating the fact that our sensitivity was already high . There were two fundamental reasons that pushed us: the first is the more strictly environmental one, the awareness that “green” issues are and will be increasingly decisive for the development of our businesses. And the second, of course, is the focus on putting our companies in a position to be affected as little as possible by the price surges that have affected the energy market in recent years, and to which we are particularly exposed. Hence the choice of a partner like Sorgenia, which has all the know-how for energy efficiency and is the ideal partner to involve even companies in environmental issues that have not previously addressed the problem.

What results have been achieved so far thanks to this collaborative project?

The collaboration gave positive results from the beginning. Together with Sorgenia we have organized several meetings and webinars for companies. Last week, for example, we were in Bari, at the local headquarters of Confindustria, and we met around 40 companies to demonstrate who Sorgenia is and what it does. And this is just one example of all the activities in which we have been engaged together to raise awareness in our companies, with meetings in person and online, even one-to-one, also proposing plant-based solutions for energy efficiency.

What main goals have you given to the partnership for 2024?

The commitment we have made is to strengthen the activities we have already started, to continue along the open paths, continuing to present to our associates the solutions that Sorgenia can implement. And obviously to move forward with the “seeding” process, and therefore also cultural involvement, on the importance of environmental sustainability for our sector.

What added value can Sorgenia bring to your members in the field of sustainable mobility?

Sorgenia is one of the first energy companies on the Italian scene, as well as an entity that stands out for its expertise in the green field. When we propose Sorgenia to our members we are sure that we are proposing a professionally competent and reliable person. Furthermore, thanks to the agreement we have stipulated, the members can keep an eye on and focus more carefully on the priority areas of intervention for their specific energy efficiency needs, from the construction of new renewable source plants, also functional to the creation of Renewable energy communities, to the revamping of existing plants, just to give a few examples.

What kind of feedback have you received so far from your associates on the initiatives related to this partnership?

The feedback is certainly positive, especially if we take into consideration small and medium-sized enterprises: large ones are generally more mature and often undertake their own path towards environmental sustainability, while smaller ones often need guidance, which accompany them and make cutting-edge solutions available to them in terms of innovation and practicality. Also by virtue of this positive feedback, we will continue to promote the partnership throughout 2024: in particular we have scheduled traveling meetings to try to bring this dialogue directly to the territories.
