Ten Hag warns new United owners
For fear of developing like Chelsea FC, Erik ten Hag warns the new United owners around Jim Ratcliffe to “interrupt the process”.
Given the new ownership, Erik ten Hag is apparently afraid of a similar development at Manchester United to that at Chelsea FC. With regard to his own job, he asked for patience. He advised new United owner Jim Ratcliffe against making too many changes. Alluding to Chelsea, he said: “We have to continue the process.”

In the press conference on the occasion of the duel against Chelsea FC, the United coach was asked whether Chelsea should be seen as a warning for the new owners of the Red Devils: “Do you think that (meaning Chelsea, editor’s note) is a warning to the new owners that making a lot of changes doesn’t necessarily mean they’re good changes?”
The Dutchman responded quickly and warned not to “interrupt the process.” United are currently in 6th place in the English league and ten Hag himself said they are “on the right track”. But if United misses qualifying for the Champions League, the pressure on ten Hag is likely to increase. “I have high standards and would be disappointed if we didn’t qualify.”
Ratcliffe and the other investors in INEOS have already made a number of changes at Old Trafford, including a change in leadership. Omar Berrada was introduced as the new CEO at the beginning of the year. A new technical director will also follow.

In contrast to Chelsea: United relies on young talent
Due to bad luck with injuries, ten Hag has recently had to rely on young players a lot. He now strengthened them: “We have good young players who are coming up. They are developing very well.”
Chelsea, on the other hand, had spent over a billion pounds on transfers since Todd Boehly took over in the summer of 2022. The Blues primarily brought in young players instead of relying on their own offspring.
