Curling World Cup is a Limmattal affair

Claudio Pescia wins against Thomas Lips’ Swiss: The Curling World Cup is a Limmattal affair

The best in their field will be playing for the World Cup title until next Sunday. The Limmattal curling club is omnipresent in Schaffhausen – next to the four rinks and on television.

Thomas Lips has already experienced a lot. The 53-year-old Swiss national coach quit his civilian job at a bank twelve years ago and has been earning his living with curling ever since. In 2012 he was hired as coach of the Russian women’s national team, and in 2014 Lips was the German national coach for two and a half years. The former top curler at CC Limmattal has been working for Swiss Curling since the summer of 2017 – including becoming European champion in 2007 in Skip Andreas Schwaller’s team.
