“For the future, it will mean that citizens will have more favorable electricity prices in both Montenegro and Srpska. The idea is to create joint projects, such as better utilization of the waters of Lake Bileć, which we need to discuss, the construction of solar power plants on that lake, as well as actualizes the high “Buk Bijela” where the benefits would also be for the hydropower system “Gornja Drina””Petrović told ATV.

“We cannot give up thermal power plants”

He emphasized the importance of using renewable energy sources, assessing that they will be a priority in investments, since the European energy community suggests that we work exclusively with them, and they will be cheaper sources of energy compared to thermoelectric energy.

“We cannot give up thermoelectric energy because it is the base. We have significant coal reserves in our two basins, Gatački and Ugljevic, and for this reason we have no doubts about the future of the power system of the Republic of Srpska.” stated Petrović.
