She announced this in a so-called Friday letter from the Trøndelag Labor Party which goes out to members, writes TV 2. The letter was sent on 2 February, i.e. one week before the dramatic annual meeting in Trondheim Ap.
– It has been a pleasure to work with many of you. I hope this collaboration can continue in my role as a parliamentary representative for Trøndelag, writes Hansen in the letter.
– Finally, I would like to take the opportunity to thank myself as deputy chairman of Trøndelag Ap. I have notified the election committee that it is time to release new powers.
She does not give a concrete reason why she chooses not to run for re-election.
Hansen stepped down as president of the Storting in November 2022 after she ended up in the commuter housing storm. She had then been sitting as president of the Storting for just over a year.
