DUBAI – The doors of Expo2020 opened on 30 September with the inaugural ceremony for only 1000 guests in the central square Al Wasl, the meaning of which is “connection”, which is also the historical name by which Dubai was known. The rest of the world followed in streaming, including from Times Square to New York. The Emirate known to the world for its opulence, and recently named by the United Nations as the most resilient city in the world, has focused on the emotional presence of the country’s governors who took turns on stage sending messages to the world.
