END: The game is over, FC Barcelona won 3-2 in the Parc des Princes in Paris and has a great chance of reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League in the second leg. It was an open exchange of blows, especially in the second half, in which more goals could have been scored. In the end, the guests’ success is fine.

87. Minute: There is a chance to equalize, but Dembélé misses clearly.
84. Minute: Penalty for Paris? The VAR says no, there was no foul by Christensen.
83. Minute: PSG definitely wants the equalizer and is running. Barcelona is still safe so far. With added time, the hosts certainly still have at least ten minutes left.
77th minute: Barcelona take the lead again! After a corner from Gündoğan, substitute Christensen rises to the top and heads in to make it 2-3!
75. Minute: Post! Dembelé receives the ball from Vitinha, aims for the far corner and only hits the aluminum – bad luck for PSG.

71. Minute: On the other hand, Araujo saves Barcola in dire need by blocking his shot with a tackle.
69. Minute: Very good free kick position for the guests. Raphinha tries, but his ball is too weak to get past Donnarumma.

62nd minute: Barcelona equalizes and again it’s Raphinha! The offensive player volleys a chip ball from Pedri and scores to equalize. A dream goal!
60. Minute: Double substitution for the guests. João Félix and Pedri come on for Lamine Yamal and Sergi Roberto.
56. Minute: PSG’s next deal! But substitute Barcola finds his master in ter Stegen.
54. Minute: How does FC Barcelona react to the two goals? PSG is of course now on top and trying to follow up.
51st minute: Double strike Paris! Vitinha runs deep, gets the ball through and takes the lead against Ter Stegen, who has no chance.

48th minute: Paris responds shortly after the break with the equalizer! Dembelé comes to the ball after Mbappe’s cross is blocked, makes another hook and hits the ball under the crossbar – 1:1.
47. Minute: By the way, PSG made one change during the break. Barcola came on for Asensio.
46. Minute: Let’s continue with the second half.
Barcelona leads at halftime at Paris Saint-Germain
Half time: Break in the Prinzenpark. Paris started strong and put the guests under pressure, but little by little FC Barcelona broke free of their hold and had their own chances. After an outstanding move, it was Raphinha who finally took the lead. PSG has to improve in the second half.
45. Minute: Addition time is two minutes.
41. Minute: Paris Saint-Germain seems a bit shocked, the guests continue to look for the offensive. Joao Cancelo finishes hastily and miserably misses a good chance.
37th minute: Goal for FC Barcelona and it’s well deserved! Cubarsi plays a great pass to Lewandowski, who passes it on to Lamine Yamal. The young star brings the ball into the middle with his outside instep, Donnarumma can’t get close, Raphinha is behind him and pushes in to make it 0-1.
34. Minute: Sergi Roberto is shown a yellow card after a tactical foul in midfield and is therefore suspended for the second leg.
33. Minute: The pressure from Paris has eased, Barcelona are now coming into the game better.
28. Minute: Mbappé comes across a shot blocked by Ter Stegen and is then fouled. However, the penalty whistle was not blown because the Frenchman was previously offside. Lucky for Barcelona.
23. Minute: Raphinha forces Donnarumma to make a save with a low shot, but the keeper cannot be beaten and deflects for a corner.
21. Minute: Suddenly Barcelona almost take the lead! Donnarumma can’t reach a high ball, Lewandowski puts it on goal, but the PSG defense scratches it off the line.

18. Minute: Paris Saint-Germain is getting closer and closer to the lead. The guests have their hands full with the opponent’s offensive. But so far it’s zero.
14. Minute: So far there is little or nothing to be seen of Robert Lewandowski. Barcelona have not yet managed to put the attacker in the spotlight.
12. Minute: Barcelona’s defense can block Mbappé and Dembelé’s attempts. But Paris is slowly getting stronger.
9. Minute: Dembelé can’t get past Cubarsi in a one-on-one duel. The only 17-year-old does it in a completely ripped way and clears it for a corner.
6. Minute: After a long ball, Raphinha is through because Paris plays for offside. But Donnarumma smells it, rushes out of his goal and clears with his foot in front of the penalty area.
4. Minute: The guests press early and force PSG to play long balls.

+++ 8.20 p.m.: Luis Enrique let the B team play against Clermont Foot in League 1 last matchday. Asensio is the only player who remains in the starting eleven, the ten other players are added.
Update from April 10th, 8 p.m: The atmosphere between these two clubs has been toxic for years. That has something to do with transfers like Neymar’s, but also with the sporting clashes. The loss against Barça in the 2016/2017 Champions League season is still painfully burned into PSG’s memory. Paris defeated the Catalans at home 4-0. There was a historic humiliation in the second leg, as the Spaniards won 6-1.

An open and competitive duel for a place in the semi-finals is expected, in which in the end the daily form in the first and second leg will probably decide whether the team progresses.

The hosts are currently in top form. They lead Ligue 1 by ten points and are also in the final of the French Cup competition. PSG suffered its last defeat to date on November 7, 2023 in the Champions League at AC Milan. “We are having an incredible series at the moment, very positive. But we want to extend it,” announced head coach Luis Enrique.
For Spanish-born Enrique, the duel against FC Barcelona is not a game like any other, as he himself played in the Catalan capital between 1996 and 2004 and ended his long and successful career there. “Playing against Barcelona is difficult for me from an emotional point of view, but at the same time it is stimulating,” he said in an interview before the quarter-finals on the PSG homepage.

FC Barcelona are certainly slight underdogs in Paris, but want to achieve a good result in order to have a chance of reaching the semi-finals in the second leg on their own field. But it will be a very difficult task, especially against the strong offensive of the opponent around superstar Kylian Mbappé.

It could be the France international’s last appearances in the Paris Saint-Germain shirt, as he recently announced that he would not be extending his expiring contract and would be leaving the club. He left it open where he would go, but a move to Real Madrid is considered likely. (smr)
