LONDON – Legend Arsenal, Thierry Henry is confident that the Gunners – Arsenal’s nickname – will eliminate FC Porto in the last 16 of the 2023-2024 Champions League. Even though he is aware that it will not be easy to beat Porto, Henry sees that Arsenal has the capital to perform better.
Arsenal is currently in the last 16 of the 2023-2024 Champions League. Mikel Arteta’s team qualified for the round of 16 after becoming champions in Group B which was filled by PSV Eindhoven, Sevilla and Lens.
In the round of 16, Arsenal will meet Portuguese giants FC Porto. Two matches will take place respectively at the Estadio Do Dragao on February 22, and the Emirates Stadium on March 13 2024.
Henry reminded Arsenal not to underestimate FC Porto. However, the former French national team striker believes that the Gunners – Arsenal’s nickname – can overcome this challenge well.
“It will be a difficult game against Porto away from home. “I think we can get through it well, we can beat them at home,” said Henry, quoted from Tribuna, Sunday (18/2/2024).
However, Henry also reminded Arsenal not to rely on just one player when it comes to scoring goals. If they succeed in beating Porto, Henry predicts that Arsenal will face a tough opponent.

Henry didn’t even talk about Arsenal’s potential to win the Champions League this season. However, what is more important for him is how the Gunners go through every match by consistently scoring goals and winning.
“Even so, the draw will be difficult. After Porto you can meet a team from your country, it depends on the route. “If it’s very big because Porto will be tough, you will play against Manchester City or Real Madrid,” said Henry.
