FGTS Digital: New Platform Promises to Revolutionize FGTS Management!

The Brazilian Ministry of Labor and Employment announced that as of March 1st, the new digital platform for managing the Service Time Guarantee Fund, called FGTS Digital, will come into force. The expectation is that this new tool will revolutionize the processes involved in managing the FGTS, simplifying and streamlining procedures for employers and employees.

FGTS Digital: an innovation in management

The FGTS Digital platform was created to improve collection, facilitate the provision of information for employers and workers, improve supervision, calculation and the entry and collection of amounts owed.

It is estimated that, before the implementation of FGTS Digital, employers would spend around 34 hours per month on payment. With the new digital system, this time can be significantly reduced, leading to significant savings in time and operational costs.

The Minister of Labor and Employment, Luiz Marinho, estimates that the new digital platform could result in savings of up to 36 hours per month, which would be spent by employers on FGTS collection procedures. “The new system provides a reduction in operating costs incurred by the fund of approximately R$144 million per year”, says Marinho.

During a testing period for the platform, which took place between August 2023 and January 2024, a limited production version was made available for employers to explore the system’s services and functionalities, and prepare for the new system.

The new FGTS Digital platform will be integrated with eSocial, the system where employers provide contractual and payroll data. This way, they will have access to a system that will allow them to quickly generate personalized guides.

Furthermore, the system allows the calculation of compensatory damages, obtaining detailed statements per worker or consolidated summaries per employer, as well as requesting refunds and installments.

For those who still have questions about the platform, the technical team will hold questions answering sessions on March 7th and 28th, via YouTube, to answer questions from employers and platform users.
