Six people were injured in the fire that broke out early this morning at the Psychiatry Clinic in Banja Luka.

As it was announced from UKC Srpska, a fire broke out in the premises of the Psychiatry Clinic of JZU UKC RS at 00:40 tonight, and one patient’s room was affected by the fire.
The fire was localized by the timely response of the medical staff, the fire department of the Fire Department of the Republic of Srpska, and the Banja Luka Fire Brigade.
“According to the words of Prof. Dr. Nera Zivlak Radulović, head of the Clinic for Psychiatry, one patient suffered burns and was adequately cared for in the Republika Srpska University Medical Center. Also, after the fire was extinguished and the patient was evacuated, five employees of the Republika Srpska University Medical Center were detained for observation due to exposure to smoke “, the announcement reads.
As they stated, the fire occurred in a building built in 2008, and the cause of the fire, as well as the material damage, will be known after the completion of the investigation by the competent authorities, which is ongoing. The regular work process of the Clinic for Psychiatry continued without interruption.
