First home defeat for the U19s, goal spectacle for the U17s

Our U19s suffered their second defeat against Eintracht Braunschweig in their 17th game of the season on Saturday afternoon. Coach Oliver ReiƟā€™s boys ultimately lost 1:2 (1:0) against BTSV despite being in the lead for a while. Karim Bellomo had given our Old Lady the lead after 41 revolutions of the pointer before the Lions turned the game around in the final phase. Konly Yotasong Deguim (76th) and Nilavan Prabakan (89th) secured a late three-pointer for the guests. ā€œWe initially had good access and good periods of possession. But we didnā€™t create enough chances for that. At the beginning of the second half we were a bit overwhelmed by the opponentā€™s aggressiveness, although we survived the phase unscathed, but from then on we were regularly late for the famous step,ā€ reports Coach ReiƟ. ā€œAfter the equalizer we got better again and had opportunities, but the reward never came. A wrong decision here, a touch too little greed there ā€“ Braunschweig was a bit more alert and aggressive. In the end the 1:2 was certainly not fair, but we need more plan in the final third, more stability and more consistency in the end. That can be trained, and thatā€™s what weā€™re going to do!ā€

Despite the home defeat, the Blue and Whites continue to lead the table with 41 points. There will be another game during the week after the ReiƟ players had already won a derby against 1. FC Union during the week. On Wednesday (02/21/24, 8:00 p.m.) the Blue-Whites will be visiting SFC Stern 1900 in the Berlin Cup, and in the league next Sunday (02/24/24, 2:00 p.m.) they will be playing at FC St. Pauli further.

A total of eleven goals: U17 wins against Kiel

The ball is also rolling again in competitive game mode for our U17s. To return to league play, our third-placed Herthaners met the Stƶrche, who were in 5th position. A high-scoring encounter developed in the Olympic Park, which our Berliners ultimately won 7:4 (3:1). Jelani Ndi (3rd), Liam Kannewurf (9th) and Niklas Hildebrandt (18th) put our team on the road to victory early on, Kiel shortened the score shortly before the break (41st). In the second round, Hildebrandt finally made everything clear with two more goals (53rd, 58th) and Patrice Čović (64th). But the guests from the north didnā€™t give up, first scoring 2:6 (71ā€²) and, after Muhammed Ɩzkanā€™s seventh goal for our team (81ā€²), two more consolation goals (83ā€², 90ā€²).

ā€œWe got off to a brilliant start, are leading and actually have everything under control, but perhaps we should have finished the first half a little more cleanly. Then we start well again, score goals four, five and six,ā€ analyzes coach Rejhan Hasanović, who subsequently also had to manage his boysā€™ strength well. ā€œIn the last half hour we changed a lot because seven boys were with the national team and had some travel strain. This is also why we ended up giving one or two gifts when we conceded goals, but that shouldnā€™t happen. Nevertheless, overall it was a good start and a brilliant victory!ā€ After the home win, Hasanovićā€™s protĆ©gĆ©s are still in third place in the table. The derby against 1. FC Union in the Berlin Cup continues during the week (Wednesday, February 21st). .24, 7:00 p.m.), before a city duel in the B-Junior Bundesliga North/Northeast next weekend. The Blue-Whites will be visiting FC Viktoria 1889 on Saturday (February 24, 2024) from 2:00 p.m.
