This Thursday (7), in João Pessoa, Botafogo-PB and Fortaleza drew 1-1, in the fifth round of the Copa do Nordeste. The result was a little worse for the home team, which was outside the qualifying zone for the quarterfinals. With eight points, the team is fifth in Group A, while Tricolor is second in Group B, with eight.
First time
Fortaleza started better and almost opened the scoring after four minutes. Yago Pikachu crossed from the right and Pedro Rocha hit it and Dalton made a great save. On the rebound, Lucas Sasha tried, but Rodrigo saved almost on the line. But Belo managed to open the scoring at 28, with a great goal. Pipico took a free kick with great skill and hit the angle of Santos, who could do nothing. Even so, Fortaleza did not give up and sought a draw soon after: Pedro Rocha launched Pikachu, who crossed the ball and made it 1-1. The turning point did not come because Dalton continued to appear well, with two goal attempts that prevented goals from the tricolor duo. .
Second time
In the second stage, Botafogo looked more for the game and threatened early on, with a shot from Luiz Felipe, which Santos saved. He made a good move again, this time launching Pedro Ivo, who shot wide, scaring the visitors. From then on, Fortaleza improved and even scored a goal, which was disallowed, through Pedro Rocha. Shortly after, Sasha and Kervin Andrade shot dangerously, with Dalton working again. Leão’s pressure increased a lot, especially with the arrival of Machuca and Lucero, but the team missed many opportunities and the red-black goalkeeper was always safe and guaranteed the draw.
