The actor Fritz Wepper is dead. Wepper died on Monday morning in a hospice in Upper Bavaria, as the “Bild” newspaper reported, citing his wife Susanne Kellermann. Wepper was 82 years old.
Fritz Wepper was already on stage as a child. He became known to a wide audience primarily through his roles as Inspector Harry Klein in the crime series “Derrick” and in the long-running series “For Heaven’s Sake”. Wepper thus became one of the most successful series actors in Germany.
In recent years, Wepper has suffered from major health problems. His brother Elmar, who was also an actor, only died in October 2023.
