Mourning for Gary Graham: The actor, best known for his roles in “Star Trek” and “Alien Nation,” has died unexpectedly.
He appeared in front of the camera for more than 100 films and looked back on a career that spanned almost 50 years: But now Gary Graham has died, as his ex-wife Susan Lavelle announced on Facebook.
“It is with deep, deep sadness that I announce that Gary Graham, my ex-husband, great actor and father of our wonderful only child, Haylee Graham, passed away today,” wrote Susan Lavelle on the social network. The family was “completely devastated,” especially his daughter.
Gary Graham and Susan Lavelle married in 1970. “I met Gary when I was just 20 years old,” she recalls in the Facebook post. At that point he had already filmed with Hollywood greats like Tom Cruise. After 25 years of marriage, the two divorced.

“Gary was funny, had a sarcastic sense of humor but was kind, fought for what he believed in, was a devout Christian and was so proud of his daughter Haylee.” The actor’s death was unexpected. She ended her post with words addressed directly to her ex: “Fly high in the sky, Gar! Thank you for our journey and thank you for the gifts you left me – acting, the love of my horses and most of all our daughter.”
Susan Lavelle also revealed that his new wife Becky was with him when he died. Gary Graham has been married to her since 2000. The two would have celebrated their silver wedding anniversary next year. But that shouldn’t happen anymore. The actor died unexpectedly of a heart attack in a hospital in Spokane, Washington.
Haylee Graham also said goodbye to her father on Facebook. “Thank you for everything you were to me. You were the best example of what a man should strive for – for his child, for his family and for the whole world. Live long and in peace, Daddio,” she wrote in a post. In another post she said: “It hurts like I’ve never felt before.”
Gary Graham appeared in front of the camera for the first time in the mid-1970s. At the end of the eighties he first took on his role in “Alien Nation”. His first appearance in “Star Trek” followed in 1995. He shot his last film in 2023 – with his daughter Haylee.
