In an England struggling with 50,000 new infections a day, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has returned to ask his citizens to take the third dose of the anti-Covid vaccine. In a video posted on Twitter, the prime minister said he wanted to “underline how important it is to take the ‘booster’ dose against Covid, when your turn comes”.

“Of course, it is true that almost every adult in this country has already taken the double dose and it is thanks to this that we have managed to resume our lives,” continued the premier. “But we also know that vaccine protection decreases over time, and so people who are most vulnerable to Covid and had the second dose more than six months ago are now at greater risk. The pandemic is not over and the danger is not gone ».
Johnson then recalled that the winter cold helps the virus, and that winter is a time when the National Health (NHS) is still under stress. “The third dose is as vital as the other two – he concluded – it is the only way to strengthen your immunity, protect the NHS, and safeguard yourself and your family.” No mention, in the speech, of the possible reintroduction of security measures that no longer exist in England for some time. Starting with the use of the mask.
