At least three people died in a train derailment near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria. Sixty are injured, 16 of whom are in serious condition, a city official said. The victims and the injured
they are of “all ages”, specify the local authorities. In fact, there were many children on board the train since today is the start of the school holidays in Bavaria.
The Munich-bound train went off the tracks for reasons yet to be determined and three cars derailed, local police spokesman Stefan Sonntag said, explaining that rescue teams let many passengers out of the windows of the overturned carriages. Three helicopters from Austria also participate in the rescue operations.
