A man who allegedly tried to take people hostage in a bus was stopped by the police. It happened on the A9 between Hilpotstein and Greding, in Bavaria. The highway was closed for a few hours.
According to reports from Bild, a fight broke out on board the bus and a man would then threaten the passengers, saying absurd things and taking three people hostage. Instead, he allowed all the others to escape. The men of the SEC special police commando intervened in an operation that lasted several hours, starting at 17.30. The police intervention on board the bus, which took place around 9.30 pm, did not cause any injuries. According to the German media, the bus came from abroad and this would also complicate the negotiations with the kidnapper, due to linguistic problems.

According to the Serbian media, the bus that was the subject of the attempted hostage-taking in Germany in the afternoon was a bus of the Serbian company Lasta traveling between Dortmund and Belgrade. The aggressor, such Fahrudin Kahrovic, he had boarded the bus at the Frankfurt stop, immediately targeting the drivers and some passengers. He would have been armed and, according to the testimonies of the drivers, he would have uttered delusional phrases stating that he had a message from Allah that he had to attack the passengers, otherwise he himself would have been attacked.
The special forces of the German police, with almost all the passengers who had managed to escape, made contact with one of the drivers, and later also with the attacker, before intervening, arresting the man and successfully ending the attempted hostage-taking.
Apart from the passenger, only the two drivers were still in the vehicle, according to the Dpa news agency. All the other travelers had gotten off the bus and gone to the side of the highway.
