Audience anger against the Giovanni Zarrella Show and comedian guest Jan Böhmermann. Maybe a bad audience rating (2.76 million) is good news this time: not so many people noticed the jumping jack annoyance.
What is the most hilarious satirist on German television, Jan Böhmermann, doing at Giovanni Zarrella’s Gute Laube party? Many people who had to experience Böhmermann’s appearance right after Semino Rossi in the “Giovanni Zarrella Show”, which is otherwise known for successful prime time entertainment, obviously asked themselves that? Böhmermann, who could otherwise easily pass for Pinocchio, stalked across the stage with a garishly made-up drag queen face, wrapped in something like a burst head of lettuce made of fabric, squeezed into squeaky tight, sparkling green trousers. And then this: He performed the Prince cult song “Kiss” in a duet with Giovanni Zarrella…

The comments on social networks were overwhelming, just one. Excerpt: “Didn’t know I needed that,” wrote X user Corinna on a screenshot of the burst head of lettuce. Or “Billy the Kid”: “I can’t do any of this anymore,” also Böhmermann in a burst head of lettuce. Later he goes one step further: “Please say that Zarrella was forced to do this.” Corinna wrote: “The Matrix is broken.”, “Das Byte” shows pity – not for Böhmermann: “I think Prince doesn’t deserve that.”
Hopefully the shot with surprise guest Jan Böhmermann didn’t backfire. Because the current audience rating (2.76 million, a meager 12.9 percent market share) shows that there are fluctuations for the “Giovanni Zarrella Show”, with a downward trend.
