Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Girona successfully celebrated against Cadiz after winning 4-1 in the match week 32 of La Liga 2023/24 at the Montilivi Stadium, Sunday (21/4/2024) early morning WIB.

Girona’s four winning goals were recorded by Eric Garcia, Ivan Martin, Artem Dovbyk and Cristian Portu. Meanwhile, Cadiz was only able to respond through Gonzalo Escalante’s single goal.

This victory strengthens Girona’s chances of finishing in the top four and competing in the Champions League for the first time in history. Currently, the club nicknamed Blanquivermells (white and red) is in third place in the La Liga standings with 68 points, only two points behind Barcelona in second place.

On the other hand, Cadiz is increasingly falling into the relegation zone, ranked 18th with only 25 points from 32 matches, as reported on the official La Liga website.

Girona immediately took control of the game by dominating possession of the ball from the start of the match. They managed to open the scoring through Eric Garcia’s goal in the 10th minute, using a cross from Savinho.

It didn’t stop there, Girona doubled their lead through Ivan Martin’s spectacular goal in the 23rd minute. The goal came from a neat combination between Yan Couto, Eric Garcia and Miguel Gutierrez, ending with Ivan Martin’s calm shot.

Entering the second half, Girona continued to appear aggressive. Artem Dovbyk increased his team’s lead to 3-0 in the 71st minute after using a pass from Gutierrez.

Cadiz managed to reduce the deficit through Gonzalo Escalante’s goal in the 82nd minute, but their comeback did not last long. Girona scored again through Cristian Portu just one minute later, increasing the lead to 4-1.

The 4-1 score in Girona’s favor lasted until the final whistle sounded, extending Girona’s unbeaten record at home to 11 matches.
