Master’s study Syafiq Riza Basalamah at the Assalam Purimas Mosque, Gunung Anyar, Surabaya, the members were disbanded GP Ansor and the Multipurpose Ansor Front (Banser), Thursday (22/2).
This refusal was marred by chaos between Banser personnel and GP Ansor Gunung Anyar and the Assalam Purimas Mosque congregation.

Chairman of the PAC GP Ansor Gunung Anyar, Asyiqun Nahdli, said that his party had sent a letter rejecting Syafiq Basalamah’s study for several reasons to the local mosque administrator.
Ansor and takmir then carried out mediation facilitated by the Gunung Anyar Police. Long story short, all parties agreed that the recitation would be cancelled.
“Initially it was rejected, then we mediated at the police station, we found an agreement but the agreement was violated. Initially we agreed that this event was canceled, but on social media they still framing that this event will continue,” said Asyiqun when confirmed, Thursday (22/2) evening.
Banser and GP Ansor Gunung Anyar finally went to the Assalam Purimas Mosque, where the event was held. There was chaos. He claimed that his party was also a victim of beatings.
“Finally, we provided security but they were not greeted well. So there were beatings. So there were around six victims. There were two riot incidents, at around 17.00 WIT first, then 18.30 WIT Maghrib,” he said.
Asyiqun said that his party rejected the study by Syafiq Basalamah because the speaker was indicated to be radical.
“Meanwhile, the Gunung Anyar area is a home for Islamic boarding schools where scholars with the Nahdliyin character,” he said.
Not only that, he claimed that the study conducted by Syafiq Basalamah could cause conflict in society and disrupt harmony in the Gunung Anyar area.
“It’s not a problem with his figure, but a problem with his principles in preaching because he judges other groups,” he explained.
According to him, the studies or content of Syafiq Basalamah’s lectures are contrary to the teachings of Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah which are adhered to by the people of Gunung Anyar District.
There has been no official statement from the management or takmir of the Assalam Purimas Mosque. Likewise with the Gunung Anyar Police Chief, Iptu Irwansyah Putra.
