Louis Klamroth welcomes several guests every Monday on his talk show “Hart aber Fair”. You can find out what these are and what topics they discuss here.

“Hard but fair” has paused. At this Monday February 19th Louis Klamroth welcomes guests again to the political talk show on Erste. The discussion starts this week at 9:00 p.m. – and this week has a sporting theme.

This Monday is all about them Fan protests in German professional football. The possible entry of an investor, which the German Football League (DFL) is planning, has been the dominant topic in the stadiums of the first and second leagues for weeks.

In today’s episode titled “Fans’ uprising: Are investors destroying football?” Klamroth discusses this with the following guests:

  • Martin Kind, official and entrepreneur – made his money with hearing aids, with a one-year break he was chairman of the board of Hannover 96 (1997 to 2019), and has been managing director since 2006
  • Kevin Kühnert, SPD – the Secretary General is a fan of Arminia Bielefeld and FC Bayern, among others
  • Ariane Hingst, ex-professional – the former player is a multiple world and European champion. She has been an investor and managing director of Sport FC Viktoria Berlin since 2022
  • Markus Babbel, Ex-Prof – played for FC Bayern Munich and Liverpool FC, among others, and coached Hertha BSC; European champion 1996.
  • Thomas Kessen, Fan – Spokesperson for the fan association “Our Curve”.
  • Mia Guethe, journalist – Studied political science, freelance journalist, works, among other things, for the football magazine 11FREUNDE.
  • Nico Heymer – “Content creator” and podcaster. He publishes videos about football on his YouTube channel “Calcio Berlin” with two colleagues.
  • Marcus Bark, Reporter – Reporter for the ARD sports show and freelance author for DER SPIEGEL, among others. He is also managing director of SC Husen-Kurl eV

Questions at “hard but fair” today

Fans are currently venting their anger in the curves with tennis balls instead of footballs: against billionaire investors. Games are about to be canceled. Will the planned entry of investors harm or benefit professional football? Just commerce on the pitch? What can men’s football learn from women’s football? Are leagues with unconventional rules like Baller League and Icon League the future? The group will discuss these and other questions on Monday evening on Erste.

“Hard but Fair” is broadcast on Erste every Monday evening – usually at 9 p.m. Louis Klamroth took over the format from Frank Plasberg as presenter at the beginning of 2023. He moderated the last edition in November 2022. In 2024, the show will focus even more on dialogue with citizens. “There will be changes in the selection of guests and topics and the dramaturgy as well as in the design of the studio and the look of the show,” announced ARD and Westdeutscher Rundfunk at the end of January.
