WASHINGTON – The flight of the vice president of the United States, Kamala Harris, from Singapore to Vietnam, was delayed by three hours after reporting an anomalous health incident in Hanoi.

“The trip”, reads a note from the US embassy, ”was delayed because the vice president’s office was made aware of a report on a recent possible ‘anomalous health incident'” found in the Vietnamese capital.

The United States government uses this formula to refer to the so-called ‘Havana syndrome, the mysterious malaise that, in 2016, struck some American and Canadian diplomats in the Cuban capital and was then detected in the following years also in other countries. It is a precarious, sometimes mysterious health condition, the symptoms of which are dizziness, nausea, migraine and memory lapses.
In recent weeks, cases of the same syndrome had been recorded in Austria and Germany.
