“If it’s rumors outside, just leave it alone. Unless you’ve shaken my hand, taken a photo, it seems to be true. It’s impossible for me as Erick Thohir who has an international reputation, and I also have seriousness, just based on gossip, I don’t want to. If I shake hands, well, okay, this is true,” said Erick as revealed to reporters several weeks ago at the BUMN Ministry office, Jalan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta.
Besides Emil, Indonesia is also rumored to be seeking a move for Maarthen Paes. The FC Dallas goalkeeper is still experiencing administrative problems, having played for the Dutch U-21 national team when he was 22 years old.
In accordance with FIFA regulations, article 9 paragraph 2, a person may change federations if he plays for another federation under the age of 21.
Apart from Emil and Paes, Indonesia has also given a passport to Cyrus Margono. Currently, the 22-year-old goalkeeper plays for Panathinaikos B.
Emil is a goalkeeper with a high reputation. He is now the second goalkeeper at Inter Milan. In the Italian League, Emil has played for Juventus, Venezia and Sampdoria. Emil has played for the Italian national team from U-15 to U-21.
