Mía León was present on the scoreboard of the match played today, Thursday, May 2, between Peru and Paraguay for the penultimate date of the final hexagonal of the South American Women’s Under 20. At the right moment, the captain of the ‘bicolor’ appeared on the rival area to partially equal the contest that takes place in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Things had not started well for the national team in the confrontation. A goal by María Fátima Acosta in the 14th minute gave Paraguay the initial advantage; However, the team led by Jaqueline Ucella knew how to react quickly to achieve equality.

Only seven minutes passed, after the Paraguayans’ 1-0, for the ‘blanquirroja’ to celebrate the tie. It all started with a corner from the right that María Espejo took. The Peruvian midfielder put the rival goal in trouble after making a great cross in the six-yard box.

This is not Mía León’s first goal in the Peruvian under-20 team. That is not Mía’s only contribution. In the aforementioned round, the national team only fell precisely against Paraguay, which finished at the top of the table with an almost perfect score (10 units). In any case, the ‘bicolor’ won her ticket to the final hexagonal of the competition, where she has been fighting to get one of the places in the World Cup in the category.

Unfortunately, at the beginning of this stage the Peruvian team registered three defeats, two of them by landslide. They lost 1-0 to Colombia, 5-0 to Argentina and 6-1 to Venezuela, which complicated their chances of qualifying. However, you can still continue fighting for the goal.
