Hill record! Forfang sails to victory in Willingen

What a performance by Johann Andre Forfang in the first of two individual competitions in Willingen, Hesse!

The Norwegian not only rewarded himself with his fourth World Cup victory, but also with a new hill record of 155.5 meters in the second round. In second place goes Ryoyu Kobayashi (-31 points) ahead of Forfang’s compatriot Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal (-32.8).

The best Austrian is Michael Hayböck in fourth place (-37), followed by Daniel Tschofenig in sixth place (-38.8) and Manuel Fettner in seventh place (-40). In addition, Jan Hörl came twelfth (-48.7) and Daniel Huber 18th (-56.6).

Power with a surprising exit after the first round

However, the working day was surprisingly disappointing for overall World Cup leader and ski flying world champion Stefan Kraft.

The Salzburger fell victim to the bad wind conditions and was eliminated in the first round in 39th place with only 81 points.

For the 30-year-old, it is the first elimination in the first round since Willingen 2020.

Tomorrow there will be another chance for Kraft and Co. to attack, so things continue with the second individual competition in Willingen (from 4:10 p.m./LIVE-Ticker >>>).
