RB Leipzig were unable to overcome the least player they had on the field and ended up conceding the draw to Hoffenheim, this Friday (3). In a game that opened the 32nd round of the Bundesliga, the teams finished 1-1, at the PreZero Arena, in Sinsheim.
Benjamin Sesko opened the scoring for the Bulls in the first half, but top scorer Kramaric left everything the same for the home team in stoppage time – both with headers. Hoffenheim knew how to take advantage of the extra player, as Xavi Simons had been sent off in the 28th minute of the second half.
With the result, Leipzig, which already has a guaranteed place in the 2024/25 Champions League, remains in fourth, with 63 points. The partial victory even placed the team in third, but Stuttgart remains intact with 64.
Hoffenheim climbs the elevator and reaches seventh place, with 40. The team is looking for a place in the next Conference League, but there is competition from Freiburg (eighth), Augsburg (ninth), Heindenheim (tenth) and Werder Bremen (11th) – everyone is within reach in the last two rounds of the Bundesliga.
Upcoming RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim games
In the two games that end the season, RB Leipzig will face Werder Bremen, at home (Saturday, the 11th), and Frankfurt, away from home (Saturday, the 18th). The team can still seek, at most, a runner-up, as Leverkusen is no longer losing the German title.
Hoffenheim, in turn, visits Darmstadt (Sunday, the 12th) and ends its participation at home against none other than Bayern Munich (Saturday, the 18th).
