BEIJING – No masses in remembrance of the dead in Tiananmen Square. For the first time in 33 years, the Catholic churches of Hong Kong will not hold the annual celebrations for the victims of June 4, 1989. The fear is that of violating the national security law. Tiananmen is a taboo subject in mainland China, here in Hong Kong, however, the memory of this bloody chapter of Chinese history has always endured, albeit with increasing difficulty.
