Suara.com – The 2024 Democracy Party has just ended. One thing that attracts the attention of voters but has often escaped the spotlight is how to check the vote count results for DPRD legislative elections at the city/district level. Understandably, the DPRD elections are indeed less prestigious than the presidential elections. Apart from the lack of massive candidate campaigns, DPRD elections are usually only centered in the candidate’s electoral areas. Narrower electoral districts make DPRD election developments only relevant to the people in each region. However, if you still want to check the results of the DPRD elections in your area, here are the steps.
1. Open the site election2024.kpu.go.id
2. Select the Regency/City DPRD for the type of election you want to check in the top left column. You can also choose other types of elections such as DPR, DPD and President.
3. Click Count Votes
4. Click on the name of the province, district/city, sub-district and polling station that you want to see
5. The step is complete, the data that will appear is the number of voting rights users and the vote results column for the legislative candidates in that electoral district.
That’s how to check the vote count for the 2024 City/Regency DPRD legislative elections. As part of a democratic system, DPRD elections cannot be ruled out. The people remain the instrument of control over the candidates who will be elected.
Corruptors Submit DPRD Legislative Assembly
Monitoring Regency/City DPRD votes is not without reason. The reason is, recently the civil society organization Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) discovered 24 names of prospective legislative members (candidates) for the Provincial and Regency/City DPRD who were former corruption convicts in the provisional list of candidates (DCS) for the 2024 Election.
ICW researcher Kurnia Ramadhana said that his party was tracing the names of former corruption convicts who were trying to nominate themselves as legislative members, both DPR RI and DPD RI.
Because, he believes that the General Election Commission of the Republic of Indonesia (KPU RI) has not fulfilled the basic rights of voters in terms of providing information regarding the track records of candidates.
“Apart from that, there is an impression emerging among the public that the election organizers deliberately want to cover up and protect the former corruption convict from public scrutiny,” said Kurnia in his statement, Monday (28/8/2023).
After finding the names of 15 former convicts who became DPR RI and DPD RI legislative candidates, ICW traced back the history of legislative candidates at the district, city and provincial levels.
Kurnia explained that the ICW database was a KPU announcement in 2019 which stated that 72 former corruption convicts were running for legislative members at the district, city and provincial levels.
