Ice hockey, Sports | Ice hockey player Alexander Reichenberg (31) has died

Lillehammer Ice Hockey Club announced the message on own websites Sunday in consultation with the next of kin.

Reichenberger has played for Storhamar and Stjernen in addition to Lillehammer in the elite series, as well as games in the SHL for Färjestad and Oskarshamn. He also had a professional career in Austria and the Czech Republic. Reichenberg is referred to by the club as one of their really big profiles in recent years.

– It is unbelievably sad to think that he will never get to hear the audience’s tactful shouts and that we who sat in the stands will not get to see the player with the big smile, the extra feint or the hard-hitting shot from the drop circle in the power play, writes the club.

Reichenberg played 50 international matches for Norway. Among other things, during the Olympic tournament in Pyeongchang in 2018.

Hockey-Norway in mourning

– It’s incredibly sad, you’re really left out. He was a young boy with a fantastic career, says former national team manager Roy Johansen, who had him in the squad on several occasions, to NRK.

Hockey president Tage Pettersen says his thoughts go out to the relatives in this difficult time.

– This was an unbelievably sad and unreal message to receive. Alexander was an ice hockey player in his prime and has contributed greatly to club and national team for many years, writes Tage Pettersen, Norway’s ice hockey president, to NRK.
