Idol of Bayern MunchenThomas Müller was outraged after the 3-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, on Saturday (10), and spared no criticism of his own team’s performance. The German attacking midfielder came on 15 minutes into the second half and vented after seeing the title chances in the Bundesliga decrease.
“To be honest, I’m pissed. Bayer deserved to win. What irritates me is that the team performs much better in training, when we are brave and have freedom. This is where I feel like we lack balls, to quote Kahn”, said Müller, in an interview with Sky Sports, using as a reference a speech by former goalkeeper Oliver Kahn, in 2003.

The attacking midfielder also avoided naming Thomas Tuchel as the culprit and said that the Bayern coach cannot take all the responsibility alone.
“Sometimes we have to talk about us, the players. It’s not just about the coach. We have a lot of international players at the highest level, we need to improve our game.”
With the home win, Leverkusen reaches 55 points and opens up a five-point lead over Bayern, who are in second place. Now, there are 13 rounds left in the Bundesliga. Xabi Alonso’s team, still without a single defeat this season, only depends on themselves to be champions.
