In Mali a bus he fell from a bridge: at least 31 people died and ten others were injured. Some of the injured are in serious condition. The accident occurred on Tuesday 27 February around 5pm local time (6pm in Italy).
The bus was traveling to Burkina Faso from Kenieba, a city in western Mali, when it overturned on the bridge that crosses the Bagoe river and crashed. According to initial reports from the Malian Ministry of Transport, the most probable cause of the accident was “the driver’s inability to control the vehicle”. Among the people who died were citizens of Mali and other West African states.
Road accidents are common in Mali due to the poor condition of many roads and public transport. A few days ago fifteen people died because a bus headed to Bamako, the country’s capital, collided with a truck.
