India breathed a sigh of relief for the rescue, on the fifth day, of a deaf 11-year-old boy who was imprisoned in a well in the state of Chhattisgarh for over 100 hours.
Rahul Sahu he was finally extracted, and immediately transferred to the hospital, “in good condition”, from the artesian well he had slipped into, in the backyard.
The successful conclusion of the complex recovery operation is due to the deployment of nearly 500 people, including operators of the army and of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Indian Civil Protection.
The baby had been monitored minute by minute and helped to breathe thanks to sophisticated technologies, including a camera and an oxygen pipeline, which reached him at a depth of 24 meters.
