Tokyo FM’s radio program “SCHOOL OF LOCK! INI LOCKS!” is hosted by Daimu Takatsuka of the 11-member global boy group INI. The broadcast on April 18th (Thursday) introduced messages from listeners who were worried about the new environment, and delivered advice and a song to encourage them.

Takatsuka: Tonight, I would like to teach a class called “Dream Support Playlist” where I listen to the concerns of the students (listeners) and deliver songs to them!

◆Listener’s message

Good evening, Mr. Omu. Sending a message for the first time. The school I attend is a bit special; there are no class changes from the first year of middle school to the first year of high school. I’ve been with the same members for 4 years.

I love my classmates so far, but I’ll be a sophomore in high school in April, so I’ll finally have to change classes. I don’t like changes in my environment, so I can’t help but feel anxious about suddenly being in a new class, separated from my friends who I’ve spent four years with. Professor Oyume, how do you cope with major changes in your environment? (16 years old)

–When there was a big change in the environment…?

Takatsuka: There are schools like this, I’ve heard about them several times… My school changed in one year, but both have their good points and their problems…

When there is a big change in the environment…but I personally don’t hate it that much. I’m someone who is always looking for change (lol). I think I really like putting myself in a new environment, and it gives me that kind of stimulation. However, I am a very troubled person. I like it, but I feel like I’m having trouble with it.

I may not be good at changing environments, but I’m sure I like getting along well with friends and doing fun things. It would be nice if you could take it slow and make friends little by little in that environment and become good friends. I’m sure the class will continue for a long time, and I’m sure it will leave some really great memories. Enjoy your new start!

–The cheering song for this listener is Takuya Ohashi’s “Hajimari no Uta”

Takatsuka: Well then, I would like to deliver one song to you! Even though I’m not getting used to my new life, I’ll try to relax and do my best today without worrying too much! That’s the song. I chose it because I thought it was a perfect fit!

There’s a lyric that goes, “Just by walking along the road I always take with my heart held out a little, the scenery looked different,” and I thought this was really good. At first, there may be a lot of anxiety, but I think just going to school with a slightly positive feeling like, “I’m going to say a few words to that child today” can make a big difference in how you feel. Masu. Please try a little challenge!
