Thirteen people have been indicted as part of an investigation into the illegal sale of football tickets for FC Porto matches. The Dragons premises were raided on Sunday.
Some 4,000 football tickets were seized, as well as more than 44,000 euros, various documents and computer equipment, said the public security police (PSP). Authorities are investigating the existence of a network suspected of distributing and selling football tickets on the black market, involving club employees and members of a supporters’ group.
For its part, FC Porto confirmed the searches on Sunday, notably in a shop at the Dragon stadium, and pledged to cooperate with investigators as part of this operation which the police called ‘Golden Ticket’. FC Porto is currently third at the end of the 33rd day of the championship. Sporting Portugal were crowned champions last week after the defeat of their Lisbon rivals Benfica.
