by admin

A massive explosion in a market in Sadr City, a Shiite-majority district of Baghdad, caused at least 28 victims and 35 injured. This was reported by the broadcaster “Sky News Arabia”, citing Iraqi medical and security sources. According to the same broadcaster, Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi has ordered the opening of an investigation into the terrorist attack.

As the Interior Ministry reported in a statement, the attack was carried out using a locally made IED (homemade bomb). The attack took place on the eve of the great feast of Ai’d al Adha or the sacrifice, when Muslims buy cattle or meat to celebrate.
