The price of tuberose flowers at the Rawa Belong Flower Market, West Jakarta (Jakbar), has increased towards takbiran evening. Even though flower prices have risen, people still buy them, one of them is Irma (27).

Irma said that the fragrance of tuberose flowers in the living room of her house has become a tradition from year to year on takbiran night.

“Yes, every year you have to buy it, it’s a family tradition. Usually you buy roses too, so they have color,” said Irma when met at the Rawa Belong Flower Market, West Jakarta, Tuesday (9/4/2024).

Irma doesn’t mind the price of tuberose flowers rising on Takbiran night. He then seemed busy choosing flower crowns that were still in bud.

“It’s okay (prices have increased). It’s a tradition, there must be tuberose on takbiran night. So that tomorrow during Eid it will bloom,” he continued.

Irma chose 10 stalks of good night flowers. He then paid IDR 150 thousand to the seller.

“Ten stalks are IDR 150 thousand, you can’t negotiate with your brother. I’ve gone around to all those who sell tuberose. On average go on price,” he said.

Meanwhile, a flower seller named Surya said tuberose flowers were the most sought after flowers before Eid.

“The most sought after are tuberose flowers, because they are for Eid,” said Surya.

Surya said, apart from delicious nightfall, buyers usually look for lilies and red roses as complements to beautify the room.

“Lilies, roses too. It’s just that most people buy good night. Nih which is still in bud gini “Tomorrow it will bloom well and smell good,” he said.

Surya admitted that during the four days of selling tuberose flowers, he made a profit of up to IDR 20 million. Each bunch of flowers is priced at IDR 150 thousand.

“The price for a bundle is Rp. 150 thousand, contains 10 stalks. Thank God, it’s not bad. If “When I sell tuberose alone, I have IDR 20 million (turnover),” he said.
